Centre Paul Roubier was created in 1970 as a joint initiative of Lyon's Law Faculty and the Lyon Chamber of Commerce and Industry, in the form of an association made up of those two entities.
The Centre came into being thanks to the combined efforts of Mr Jacques GOUGENHEIM, Vice-President of the Lyon Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Professor and founding chairman, and Albert CHAVANNE, Professor at the Law Faculty and eminent specialist in industrial property and for a long time Director.
The name is that of the true founder of contemporary legal doctrine in this field. Dean Paul Roubier was indeed a lawyer teaching at Lyon's Law Faculty. Professor CHAVANNE, a favoured pupil of Dean ROUBIER, along with the new generation, made it his duty to maintain the presence of a teaching establishment for industrial property law in Lyon.
Today, the association
is chaired by Mr Fabrice Lenoir, a representative of the Lyon Chamber of Commerce
and Industry, and the Centre is managed by Mr Yves Reinhard, Emeritus Professor of the Law Faculty
of Jean Moulin University (Lyon III).
Centre Paul Roubier (an association for teaching and research in the field of industrial, literary and artistic property and competition law) operates under the 1901 law on associations and was founded by the Lyon Chamber of Commerce and Industry (www.lyon.cci.fr) and Lyon's Law Faculty (www.univ-lyon3.fr), under the patronage of:
